If you are living at an address which is registered for Council Tax with Rotherham Borough Council and you are on a low income/benefits you may qualify for a Rothercard.

FREE TRAVEL PASS

If you live in South Yorkshire (you pay your Council Tax to Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley or Sheffield Council) you may qualify for a free travel pass if you are under 65 years of age and:

• Are blind or partially-sighted
• Are deaf or without speech
• Have a disability or injury which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to walk
• Do not have arms or have long-term loss of the use of your arms
• Have a learning disability
• Have been or would be refused a driver’s licence on medical grounds (other than on the grounds of persistent misuse of drugs or alcohol.

To get your pass you will first have to contact your local District Council Office or
Rotherham District, Social Services, Crinoline House, Effingham Square, Rotherham, S65 1AW or

CINEMA EXHIBITORS’ ASSOCIATION CARD

This is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema.
To apply for the card, you will need to meet one or more of the following criteria:
a) Be in receipt of the Disability Living Allowance or attendance allowance.
b) Be a registered blind person.
Application forms are available from cinemas across the UK supporting this card.
